Black is not back: the aesthetic treatment for dark teeth In any dental meeting, congress or course, one of the most common question from dentists is: how to treat a black tooth? Which is the best material to use? How to avoid aesthetic relapse? We have many resources in the market, from bleaching systems to dedicated restorative materials… even the possibility to cover the darkened teeth with veneers or crowns. The author, following his 25 years of experience in dentistry, would like to share and discuss different situations and different treatment plans for this kind of problem, with the idea to offer the clinicians faster and more predictable formulae, focusing more in the needs of the patient: To have a “wellness dental treatment”, a natural white appearance and a positive experience over the time. Patients understand and appreciate aesthetics in the frontal upper teeth, dentist must focus intensively in offering the best possible treatment plan for any level of economic situation, understanding the pros and cons and creating a win-win strategy for a long trusting connection.
